Climate Justice & Environment

Environmental Conservation & Natural Resources

Building climate resilience through community education and environmental conservation

Program Overview

Our Climate Justice, Environment and Natural Resource Conservation program focuses on building climate resilience through community education, environmental conservation initiatives, and training climate champions. We work to protect natural resources for sustainable community development while addressing the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.

Our Approach

Climate change disproportionately affects rural communities, particularly women and marginalized groups. Our program takes a community-centered approach to climate action, empowering local communities with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to adapt to and mitigate climate change impacts while promoting environmental conservation.

Key Focus Areas

Tree Planting & Reforestation

Implementing large-scale tree planting initiatives in schools and communities to restore forest cover and combat deforestation.

Women Climate Champions

Training women as climate justice champions to lead environmental conservation efforts in their communities.

Sustainable Practices

Promoting sustainable agricultural practices, waste management, and renewable energy solutions.

Climate Education

Providing climate change education and awareness programs to build community understanding and action.

  • Community-led adaptation: Supporting locally-driven climate adaptation strategies
  • Equitable resource access: Promoting fair access to natural resources and climate finance
